John passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Grapevine. He was born February 19, 1939, in Long Island, New York to Alexander and Mary (Lopez) Tolfa. John was of the Catholic faith. He married Nitza Tolfa in Queens, New York and they were married for 46 years before her passing in 2008. John proudly served his country in the United States Army. His career was working as an Aeronautical Engineer. John was extremely intelligent, hardworking and helpful. He had a great sense of humor about him. John was a wonderful husband, and father. He was also a great brother and brother-in-law. John will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Tolfa and wife, Kirsten, and Jason Tolfa and wife, Lisa; sister, Mary Staercke and husband, David; grandchildren, Kori Tolfa, Gavin Harlien, Jacob Tolfa, Reese Tolfa, and Hannah Wright; niece, Barbara Sandler and husband, Lance; and nephew, Donald Rushton and wife, Susan McGinn.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Nitza Tolfa; parents, Alexander and Mary Tolfa; sisters, Rose Tolfa, Sistelia Mussmacher, and Innocent Rushton; and brother, Giacinto Tolfa.
