John David Kennemer, age 51, of Waco, passed from this earthly life on May 18, 2026.

David was born in Fort Worth to James Dale Kennemer and Brenda Darline Kennemer. He attended Brewer High School and worked for more than 20 years as a commercial general contractor. Through his work, he built not only structures, but lasting friendships and respect among those who knew him.

David loved God deeply and shared that faith with many throughout his life. Though he faced challenges of his own, he was often a steady source of strength and comfort to family and friends during their most difficult moments. Those who knew him best remember his loyalty, quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved.

One of David’s greatest joys was fishing. He treasured time spent on the lake with family and friends, holding a fishing pole, sharing laughter, and creating memories together. The stories he told were rarely about the fish caught, but about the fellowship, humor, and moments shared with the people around him.

David will be remembered as a strong, loyal, and faithful man whose beautiful soul touched many lives. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Irlene Kennemer; grandmother, Kathy Force; father, James Dale Kennemer; and uncles, Steve Force, Terry Force, and Paul Kennemer.

David is survived by his wife, Ashley Kennemer; daughters, Abigal and Kadie; son, Joshua Dillon Kennemer; mother, Darline Kennemer; four sisters, Carrie Ann Carter, Katrina Kennemer, Sara Kennemer, and Rachel Kennemer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to ICU Nurse Gunner Patterson for the compassionate care and kindness shown to David and his loved ones during his time in the ICU at JPS Health Network.
