Graveside service for Joe E. Harless, 81, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Greenacres Memorial Park in Cleburne.

 

Joe passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 29, 1943, in Cleburne to Lester and Violet (Bible) Harless. He married Sherrill Lane West on November 6, 1962, in Cleburne. Joe was a member of Henderson Street Baptist Church. Joe retired as Sgt 1st Class after 21 years in the Army. After retiring he worked in the Aircraft Quality Control for General Dynamics and SPM. He enjoyed motorcycles. He found a family within the GWRRA Chapter M Moonlighters Branch. Joe was a creative man and spent time in his shop working on woodworking creations. He loved his yard and animals, especially cats. He was also a big Sci-Fi Fan; Star Trek was his favorite. Joe loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

Joe is survived by his son Scott Harless; daughters, Traci Smith, Robin Lyerla and husband, Chris, Kandi Harless; grandchildren, Amy, Taylor, Everett, Zachery, Violet, Chad, Austin, Erik, Calista, Theo; 4 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

 

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 35 years, Sherrill Harless, and daughter, Angela Waits.
