Joe Dean Duncan, Sr.

Services for Joe Dean Duncan, Sr., 84, of Godley, will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Cleburne First Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Billy Wright officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 25, 2024 in Greenlawn Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation for friends and family from 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Freddy Tillman, Joe Duncan, III, Dimenson Duncan, Mark McCatty, Eric Cooper, Andrew Duncan, Dexter Murff, and Darius Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Duncan, Jr., Willis Duncan, and Patrick Duncan.

Joe passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Fort Worth. He was born November 18, 1939 in Wabbaseka, Arkansas to George Wesley and Ludie Ruby (Johnson) Duncan. Joe married Earnestine Laverne Lawson on July 15, 1960 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was a member of Cleburne Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church. Joe was self-employed as an auto body repairman with 50 years of service. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his children, Donna Tillman of Oklahoma City, OK, Joe Duncan, Jr., (Amanda) of Cleburne, Demetrice Berry (Anthony) of Godley, Alesia Duncan of Joshua, Felicia Murff of Cleburne, Patrick Duncan (Petra) of Cleburne, Willis Duncan of Cleburne, Ducsonie Duncan of Cleburne, Delicia Isreal (Robert) of Godley, Devon Hardamon (Kente) of Cleburne, and Desiree Duncan of Godley; sisters, Dorothy Ward of Illinois, and Shirley Wright of Alabama; 48 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ludie Duncan; son, Wesley Lewis Duncan who passed in 2004; and 13 brothers and sisters.
