Graveside service for Jo Ann Morton Meredith, 86, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 23, 2023, in Rosehill Cemetery with Tom McNutt officiating. Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the funeral home.
Jo Ann passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Cleburne. She was born August 31, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to Joel Willard and Anna (Curry) Morton. Jo Ann married Billy Gilbert Meredith on August 1, 1959, in Cleburne. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Cleburne. Jo Ann was a homemaker and also worked in housekeeping at Colonial Manor for 10 years. She resided in Rio Vista for 10 years raising her sons there. Jo Ann was a quiet and reserved lady who took great pride in caring for her family and home. She had a strong faith and was dedicated to her church. She enjoyed baking and listening to gospel music. Jo Ann will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Billy G. Meredith; son, Stanley Glenn Meredith and wife, Carol; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Morton; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Meredith; siblings, Nathan Morton, and Willene Walker; and great-granddaughter, Emersyn Bryant.
