Jimmy Snelson

Service for Jimmy D. Snelson, 75, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend Dennis Camp will officiate. Interment will be in Watts Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Butch West, Truitt Ownbey, Peter Pope, Bill Roden, Tom Roden, Don Rogers and Gary Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Rice, Kenneth Ownbey, Jim Brewer, Milton Schultz Jr., Eddie Christner, Laddie Kaska, Gary Laitz, Milton Schultz, III Trae and Gerald Blake Barker. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Jimmy Snelson was born May 8, 1938 in Cleburne to Rufus and Thelma Rogers Snelson. He married Linda Sue Barker on November 24, 1960 in Cleburne.

Jimmy loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching hockey. He was an engineer for Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe railroad with 25 years of service. Mr. Snelson also coached soccer for a number of years. He was of the Methodist faith.

Jimmy Snelson is survived by his wife, Linda Snelson; daughter, Salli Hohmann of Houston; grandchildren, Cason Hohmann, Cole Hohmann, Carli Sue Hohmann and Chase C.J. Hohmann and loving niece, Betsy Praetorius Hancock.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Thelma Snelson and brother, Duane Snelson.
