Jimmy Bob "Jim" Latson

There will be a private graveside service for Jimmy Bob “Jim” Latson, 86, of Rio Vista in the Latson Family Cemetery in Rio Vista, Texas.

Jimmy Bob “Jim” Latson passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on September 16, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Jim was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Latson’s Custom Millwork for over 26 years in Fort Worth, Texas where he specialized in creating custom doors and other woodworks. He enjoyed the outdoors throughout his life, but in his later years, enjoyed taking care of his yard especially. It has been said that you never had to wonder where he stood. Jim was opinionated, to say the least and was known for his onery nature. He will be remembered for living life on his terms.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Faith Hagood Latson; son, Marko Latson; and three siblings.

Survivors include his son, Brent Latson; five grandchildren, Robin Shaw, Rachel Taylor, Cameron Latson, Chandler Latson, and Colton Latson; several great-grandchildren; sister, Faithie Timms; and a host of other extended relatives.
