A funeral service for Jimmy Albert Blankenship, 88, of Fort Worth, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 23, 2025 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX 76033, with Pastor Robert Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rio Vista Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to service.
Jimmy Albert Blankenship, a beloved husband, father, and respected figure in his community, passed away on May 15, 2025, in Justin, Texas. He was born on April 2, 1937, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and devoted over 65 years of his life to his passion as a self-employed plumber. "How Sweet It Is" symbolizes Jimmy's kindness and joy he brought to others. His unwavering dedication to his craft earned him the trust and respect of many, marking him as a skilled tradesman in the area.
Jimmy's warmth and charisma shone through in all aspects of his life. He brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him as a jokester. He had a fervent love for golf, which led him to play semi-professional golf, showcasing his commitment not just to the sport but to the enjoyment it brought him and others. For Jimmy, every round of golf was an opportunity for camaraderie and connection.
He proudly served his country as an Army Private 1st Class, an experience that shaped his character and deepened his commitment to the values of service and community. His strong faith as a devoted member of the Church of Christ provided him with strength and guidance throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Jewel Blankenship; brothers Tommy Blankenship, Jr. and Finis Blankenship; grandson Dwayne Rogers; and stepdaughter Marsha Brown.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Beverly Blankenship; his sons, Jimmy Blankenship and wife Karen, David Blankenship and wife Lisa; his daughter, Kammy Rogers and husband Jay; son, Richard Blakenship and wife Carmen; and stepson; brother, William "Raymond" Blankenship; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Jimmy Albert Blankenship's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will inspire and comfort his family and friends, reminding them always of the joy he brought into their lives.
