Service for Jewel Polson Threadgill, 95, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Threadgill passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in Fort Worth. She was born September 26, 1918 in Goatneck to Charles Lewis and Mary Ann Peterson Moore. She married John I. Polson in 1935. She then married Melvin L. Threadgill in 1965 and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Threadgill was a retired assembler for Rangaire for 12 years. She was a harmonica player, even into her 90s. She loved playing games, especially 42 and bingo. Granny loved to cook and have family gatherings even into her 80s. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She also enjoyed quilting. Her love for her Lord, her family and her great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, siblings, Thomas Moore, Leonard Moore, Lewis Moore and Mary Oleta Callahan; grandson, Bryan Marshall; and son in law, Charlie Moser.
Survivors include her children, Donnie Polson and wife Nona, Loretta Moser, Martha Jones and husband Joe, Mary Spurrier and husband Hugh, Roger Polson and wife Donna, Betty Land and husband Maurice; stepson, Jerry Threadgill and wife Margot; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
