Jessie Belle Wilson Smith

Service for Jessie Belle (Wilson) Smith,102, of Midlothian will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Devon Petty will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, February 19, 2024 at the funeral home.

Jessie passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 in Cleburne. She was born December 5, 1921 in Whitney to Claudius Bennett and Jessie Izora (Johnson) Wilson. Jessie married Charles Andrew Smith on November 12, 1938 in Glen Rose. Jessie was a telephone operator at Harris Hospital. She previously helped build bombers and worked as a beautician. Jessie then went on to work as an LVN and instructor.  She loved her grandkids and enjoyed playing a role in raising them. Jessie was a loving wife and mother. 

She was very hard-working and opinionated. She was a true caregiver. Jessie will be missed by all who knew her.

Jessie is survived by her daughter, Shirley Byrd; son, Kenneth Smith and wife Kathy; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith; sons, Charles Adrian Smith, James Kevin Smith; siblings; parents and her beloved dog, Dusty.
