A funeral service for Jeanette (Patton) McDowell, 84, of Morgan, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033 with Mr. Clint Hopson officiating. Interment will follow in the Kimball Bend Cemetery, 2928 Texas 174, Kopperl, TX 76652. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 9:00 - 10:00 AM prior to service.
Jeanette McDowell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on August 20, 2026, in Waco, Texas. She was born on April 24, 1942, in San Saba County, Texas.
Jeanette devoted over 25 years of her life as a Dental Assistant. Through her vocation, she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues, offering reassurance and care with her trademark sincerity and candor. She brought the kind of reliability and kindness that made her an invaluable presence within her workplace and the broader community.
A faithful wife for 63 years, Jeanette set an enduring example of dedication, grace, and love. She and Bobby were always there for each other. Her relationship with her family was at the very heart of her being. Fiercely proud and supportive of her sons, she poured her heart into their lives, leaving an indelible legacy as a caring and steadfast mother. Jeanette's love extended readily to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed sharing her wisdom, warmth, and her passion for making even the simplest moments special.
Jeanette was renowned for her love of RV-traveling, creating memories alongside her loved ones as they journeyed across the United States, adventuring as far as Alaska. These were cherished times, full of laughter and discovery, and often remembered as the most wonderful days of her life. True to her nature, there was nothing pretentious about Jeanette; you always knew where you stood with her. She offered acceptance and welcome to all, embodying the very best of what it means to nurture and include others.
Whether cheering on her beloved Cowboys, gathering the family for celebrations, or capturing hearts with her legendary banana pudding and fruit salad, Jeanette infused daily life with comfort and joy. Her kitchen was a magnet for family gatherings, where birthdays were made truly special and her love was felt in every detail. She will be remembered as a great example of motherhood, always giving, always warm, and always genuine.
Jeanette was profoundly thankful to be a part of God's family and to have received the blessings and support of her beloved church community. Her faith was a guiding light, and the fellowship she found within her church was a continual source of strength and gratitude. Her legacy is one of unwavering love, honesty, and heartfelt devotion. She will be missed deeply and remembered with enduring affection by all whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Patton and Olive Pauline (Locker) Patton; brother, Buford Patton; sister, Nedra, and great-grandchild, Delkin.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Bobby Eugene McDowell; sons, Mike McDowell & his wife, Lynda, Scott McDowell & his wife, Mary Helen, Jasen McDowell & his wife, Lorrie; grandchildren, Dan McDowell & his wife, Tiffiny, Melinda McDowell, Nathan McDowell & his wife, Sarah, Micah McDowell, Elena Land, Ricky Land & his wife, Jordan, Brandon McDowell & his wife, Cortney, Allan McDowell, Monishia Blum & her husband, Christopher, Bobby McDowell & his wife, Amber, Zachary McDowell & his wife, Krista, and Payslie McDowell; great-grandchildren, Anastashia, Zoe, Harlyn, Mikey, Frankie, Aleera, Bentley, Brody, Brexton, Oshean, Levi, James, Alice, Andrew, Peter, Gideon, Levi, Ridge, and Rory on the way!
