A funeral service for James S. Fritz, 80, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX, 76033 with Chaplain Eddy Carrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Rio Vista Cemetery with Kyle Smith, Seth Shamblin, Keller Hensley, Kevin Smith, Kole Smith, Ashton Stewart serving as pallbearers and Tony Fritz and Chris Fritz serving as honorary pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

James Sigsbee Fritz, a devoted husband, loving father, and respected figure in the nuclear construction industry, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Richmond, Texas. Born on October 2, 1945, in Fallon, Nevada, James led a life marked by dedication, humor, and an enduring passion for the outdoors.

James was a veteran of the Air Force. He went on to be a nuclear plant contractor with over 40 years of invaluable experience. He contributed to the nuclear construction industry, a career path that earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike.

James was best known among his family and friends as a charismatic and fun-loving individual with a playful nature and infectious sense of humor. James was a jokester and those fortunate enough to share in his company knew well that if he joked with you, it was a clear sign of his deep affection and genuine care for you. His friends and family will remember the warmth behind his playful banter and the sincerity of his heart.

James had many accomplishments in his life that he was proud of. He was a high school track star and held the state record for Whittle High School in Reno, Nevada for the 100M dash for over 12 years. He was the proud owner of his own business, J.F. Construction. A passionate bass fisherman, James also served as a past President of the Granbury Bass Club and was a long-time member of the Stephenville Bass Club, where his love for fishing created lifelong friendships and fond memories. He was an avid hunter and loved introducing his grandkids to the “lost art” of “Buzzard Bowling”. His enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures reflected the biggest heart and dedication he carried for those around him.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Ovlan Fritz and Ella Marie (Bishop) Fritz; his son, Mark Fritz; his brother, Ovlan Jr., his sister, Debra Fritz, and his twin brother, Dane.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne Fritz; daughters, Wendy Davis and her husband, Lincoln, Kelle Lambert and her husband, Chris, Kayla Hensley, and Kristina Stewart and her husband, Ashton; his cherished grandchildren, Ella Zamora, Wade Lambert, Gage Lambert, Keller Kensley, Hollan Hensley, Lilian Farquhar, and Sienna Cevasco; his uncle, Dane Bishop; his sisters, Audrey Stacey and Joy Ratliff and husband Bundy; his sisters-in-law, Victoria Fritz, Kathy Smith and husband Ken, Cinda Jones and husband Larry; brother-in-law, Chris Vassar  and numerous nieces and nephews. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his love, laughter, and loyalty endure in their hearts.

James S. Fritz leaves behind a legacy grounded in faithfulness, warmth, and a joyful spirit that inspired all who knew him. His sense of humor and unconditional love for others will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to walk alongside him.
