A memorial service for James H. Baze, 66, of Cleburne, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the New Heart Family Worship Center on 420 North Anglin St., Cleburne, Texas 76033. 

James H. Baze, aged 66, of Cleburne, Texas, passed from this life on May 2, 2026, at Heritage Trails, Cleburne, Texas. Mr. Baze was born on January 2, 1960, in Hillsboro, Texas to Joseph Edward Baze and Mary Earnestine Strength. 

James married Jimmie Elaine Prescher on February 17, 1979. They were married 48 years. He was a youth pastor, associate pastor, and a pastor in Texas and Oklahoma; also ministered for World Bibleway Fellowship. James retired from the City of Cleburne after 22 years of service.

James was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and two sisters, Pamela Baze and Patricia Mullins. 

James is survived by his wife, Jimmie Baze; daughters, Jennifer Blackburn and Danielle Cavazos (Lenny); son, Benjamin Baze; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Debbie Mills (Allan); brothers, David Baze (Johnna) and Jonathan Baze (Sarah); and aunt, Carolyn Sturnberg (Ivan). The family would like to give a special thanks to Heritage Trails Nursing and Valor Hospice for their care and support.
