Service for Jackie DeWight Ray, 75, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Private family burial will follow. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Jackie DeWight Ray passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in Rio Vista. He was born July 7, 1937 in Camby, Indiana to Charles and Bonnie Holmes Ray. He married Avinell Wright on March 10, 1967 in Handley, TX.

Mr. Ray served his country in the United States Navy Reserves. He worked as a Director of Central Services for Fort Worth ISD until retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Avinell Ray; daughters, Jacquelyn Marshall and husband Charles and Tammie Wilkerson and husband Buddy; son, Raymond Ryan Ray; brother, Charles Ray and wife Mary; sisters, Artrilla Ray Hansen and husband Dennis, Centerillia Hein and Scarlette McLain and husband Jim; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous extended grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Sprayberry Ray; son, Mitchell DeWight Ray; parents, Charles and Bonnie Ray; brother, William L. Ray; sister, Bonnie Diane Ray; and a grandson, Dallas Lee Sanders.
