Jackie Douglas Cupit, a beloved father, grandfather, and respected member of the community, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Carrollton, Texas. Born on February 1, 1938, in Greggton, Texas, Jackie led a life that was a testament to his love for the outdoors and his dedication to his family.
A serious man with an adventurous spirit, Jackie was known for his active lifestyle. He found joy in yard work and hunting, which reflected his deep appreciation for nature. For over 14 years, he captivated golf enthusiasts as a professional golfer, demonstrating a commitment and passion for the sport that brought him immense pleasure and accomplishment. He was strong in his Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Vaughn Cupit; his parents, John William Cupit and Martha Ellen (Rose) Cupit; his daughter, Diana Cupit; his grandson, Mason Cox; his brothers Homer, Bud, Buster, Bobby, David, Jerry, and Freddie Cupit; and his sister Bonnie Cupit Nichols.
Survivors include, his daughter, Carrie Cox and her husband Daniel, Sandra Harred and her husband Derrick, Terry McGarity and her husband Mike, and Cindy Overcash and her husband Johnny; his grandsons, Brandon Cox, Colt Cox, Cody Austin, and Harlie Harred; his granddaughters Danielle Talbot and her husband Ryan, and Kandace Paris; great- grandchildren, Presley Talbot, Perri Paris, Blaire Harred, and Vance Harred; his sister, Mary Kelso and her husband Edward, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
The impact Jackie Cupit made on those who knew him will not be forgotten. His spirit, strength, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
