Howard Homer “Howie” Drew, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 11, 2025 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born September 23, 1958 in Lima, New York. Howie was of Christian faith. He worked over 25 years in the nuclear plant industry, mainly as a Val-Tech servicing outages across the country, most recently with Crane and also with D.C. Atlantic. He was a patriot, having served in the United States Navy from 1977-1988. Howie was known as a free-spirit and believed in living clean and spending time in nature. He has been described as being an “old-school hippie” who was happiest in his bell-bottoms, outdoors with family and friends. Howie avoided drama and clung to his peace. He was an avid cat-lover. Howie will be missed greatly by those who were blessed to know him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Homer Drew, Sr. and Laura Arlene Bailey Drew; siblings, Linda LaFountain, Durrent Drew, and Ellen Drew; 1 great nephew; 1 great-great nephew; and 1 great-great niece.
Survivors include his sister, Regina Drew Johnson and her family; nieces and nephews, Scott LaFountain, Annette LaFountain, Brad LaFountain, and Greg LaFountain; 13 great nieces and nephews; 20 great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends, including his Buckmann family.
