Harris Owens

Harris Owens, Jr. born March 20, 1939, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022 at his home in Cleburne, Texas. He was 83 years old. He graduated Cleburne High School where he met and married his wife, Doris. They were married 63 years. After serving six years in the Army, he trained to be a paint and body mechanic with George Triplett. He worked at Triplett Paint and Body Shop for 45 years and retired at the age of 60.

Harris never met a stranger. He loved gardening, fishing, camping and most of all water skiing. He was well known in the community having lived here his whole life. He was a member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church, Cleburne, Texas.

Harris is survived by his wife, Doris and two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Brent Noller of Cleburne and Carol and Steven Welch of Weatherford; grandchildren, Aaron Williams and Ricky Garcia, Marci and Troy Johnson, Cody Noller; 3 precious great-grandsons, Noah, Owen and Parker Johnson; sisters, Nancy Herrin and Betty and Mike Duckworth and sister-in-law, Joyce Owens.

Harris is preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bobby” Owens and parents, Harris and Marie Owens.

Service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 20, 2022 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation 9:00 A.M., Thursday, October 20, 2022 prior to the service.
