Gwendolyn Ford

Service for Gwendolyn Mae “Gwen” Ford, 81, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church. Reverend Todd Ledbetter will officiate. Burial will follow in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the funeral home.

Gwen passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 in Dublin. She was born September 22, 1941 in Cleburne, Texas to James Ray and Dora Mae (Hudson) Ledbetter. Gwen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Cecil Eugene “Gene” Ford on November 7, 1958 in Cleburne. Gwen was the owner and operator of Gwen’s Upholstery that she ran for over 40 years. Mammy’s shop was a place of laughter, love and comfort for family and friends. Gwen was a feisty lady who shared her thoughts openly. She enjoyed spending time at WinStar on the slot machines. Gwen was known for her cooking, especially for family gatherings. She enjoyed traveling the country with Gene and the National Nomad Club. Gwen, also known by her CB handle, “Barefoot Lucy”, will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her children, Debby Fox, Gwenda Davis and husband, John, Randy Ford and wife, Kelli; daughter-in-law, Kandi Ford; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Ledbetter and wife, Sherry; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Curtis Ford; brothers, Raymond Ledbetter and Jackie Ledbetter; daughter-in-law, Sandra Ford; sons-in-law, Steve Spears, Travis Sellers and Barry Fox; and grandsons, Cody Ford and Jeremy Ford.
