Glenda Gale Capps Edens, a cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted family matriarch, passed away on March 14, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on June 6, 1948, in Bowie, Texas, Glenda's life was marked by love, dedication, and an unyielding commitment to her family.
Glenda was known for her vibrant spirit and nurturing nature. With an extraordinary "green thumb," she had the remarkable ability to grow almost anything, transforming her garden into a flourishing sanctuary that she loved dearly. Her passion for gardening was matched only by her enthusiasm for travel, as she delighted in exploring new places and creating cherished memories along the way.
A gifted host and cook, Glenda's home was a gathering place where laughter and warmth filled every room. She was the glue that held her family together, always ensuring that bonds were strengthened and treasured. Her family-oriented nature was at the heart of everything she did, and her legacy of love will continue through the generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Capps and Josephine Capps-Nance; her beloved son, Tim Carlson; her sister, Ava Capps Martin; and her brothers, Darmon Capps and Roy Capps.
Glenda is lovingly survived by her children, Jill Carlson and Amy Kendrick; her grandchildren, Jennifer Dean, J.J. Kendrick, Hannah Chillinsky, A'lisa Kendrick, Hunter Carlson, and Kaylee Kendrick; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Capps-Rudolph, and her husband, Jim; brother-in-law, Euel Martin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives who remember her with great affection.
Glenda’s legacy is one of unwavering love, resilience, and devotion to family. Her memory will forever remain a guiding light to all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she held so dear.
