A graveside service for Gisele Anneliese McCurdy, 94, of Cleburne, will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the DFW National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211 with Eddy Carrell officiating. Howard Camp, Clinton Camp, Stephen P. Camp, Sean Patrick McCurdy, John Austin McCurdy, and James McCurdy will serve as pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00PM at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Gisele Anneliese Schindler McCurdy was born on June 29, 1931, in Berlin, Germany. With a heart full of dreams and a talent for craftsmanship, she ventured on a remarkable journey that would lead her to Cleburne, Texas, where she spent many cherished years of her life. Gisele passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and community engagement.

Married for 50 years to her beloved husband, Howard McCurdy, Gisele dedicated herself to her family and her passions. After attending a four-year technical school for seamstresses, she became renowned in her community for her exceptional skill in dressmaking. Gisele crafted beautiful dresses for Cleburne socialites and dressed the Baylor Twirlers during the 1970s, showcasing her talents that not only brought joy to those around her but also contributed to the vibrant cultural fabric of the area.

Her dedication extended beyond her artistic endeavors; Gisele was actively involved in the Iris Society and local politics, inspiring fellow community members with her commitment to service and advocacy. She was a loving mother and grandmother, nurturing her family with unwavering support and affection, traits that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Howard McCurdy; her parents, Adolph and Anna Schindler; and her sisters, Edeltraut Schindler and Ingrid Schindler.

Gisele is survived by her son, Frank McCurdy, daughter, Barbara Camp and husband, Kevin, and son, John McCurdy and wife, Jamie; grandchildren, Howard Camp, Clinton Camp, Stephen P. Camp, Sean Patrick McCurdy, John Austin McCurdy, James McCurdy, and Jacki Ayhens; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Gisele Anneliese McCurdy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, creativity, and enthusiasm.
