A Celebration of Life for Gerry Lee Ward, 71, of Grandview, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Reverend Emory Cheek officiating.
Gerry passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on January 17, 1954, in Fort Worth, he was of the Baptist faith. He married Brenda Kay Jackson on July 24, 1999, in Burleson, Texas. Gerry was a dedicated mechanic, renowned for his expertise in his field. A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, Gerry was known for his strength, patience, and gentleness. He was a loving son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather, with a deep affection for his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. His relationship with Brenda was marked by love and admiration, as he cherished her every day.
Gerry is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Brenda Kay Ward; his children, Leslie Pecina, Phillip Kelley and wife Samantha, Michele Simpson and husband Tovoris, Jamie Jenkins and spouse Jessie, Darren Roberts, and Crystal Whisenhunt; along with 10 grandchildren and one on the way, 4 great-grandchildren; siblings Berta Ward McMurry, David M. Ward and wife Kathy, and Zuma Ward Cheek; brother-in-law Brian Jackson; sister-in-law Vicky Harrall; his furry companion Sweet Pea; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a vast network of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Lorine Ward; mother-in-law Rose Jackson; grandson Xavion Murray; brother-in-law Harvey McMurry; and grandmothers Berta Ward and Frances Reid.
Gerry will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
