Gerald Louis Van Zandt

Graveside service for Gerald Louis Van Zandt, 83, Palmer, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Rio Vista Cemetery.

 Gerald passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Red Oak. He was born September 20, 1940 in Cleburne. Gerald married Oma Lou Berry on September 22, 1961 in Dallas. Gerald retired from AAFES after many years of service. He enjoyed raising his animals. He enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns. Gerald will be miss by all who knew him.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Oma Lou Van Zandt; children, Cassie Lusk, Mike Van Zandt and wife, Ann; grandchildren, Axl Lusk, Troy Jester, Keller & Isaac Van Zandt, Dane Bachynsky; great grandchildren, Alex & Carmeron Jester; sister Bobbie Waddle; sisters-in-law, Peggy Van Zandt and Sue Van Zandt; brother-in-law, Leon Stewart and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

 Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, George Louis and Edna Marie (Patton) Van Zandt; sister, Donnie Stewart and brothers, Pat Van Zandt and Ray Van Zandt.

 The family sends a special thank you to all the friends and health care providers, who were there for Gerald.
