Geary Commander, born on May 6, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Cleburne. He lived a life marked by unwavering dedication to his family and friends, and he is remembered with deep respect by all who knew him.
Geary was a man of quiet strength and steadfast character. Stern at times, he carried a subtle sense of humor that endeared him to those who had the pleasure of his company. He was hardworking, embodying a tireless spirit that was evident in all aspects of his life. Above all, Geary’s devotion to his family was paramount. He shared a particularly close bond with his siblings, a relationship that provided great comfort and joy throughout his life.
Geary also greatly valued the time spent with friends and family, often gathered around a game of dominoes. These moments reflected his warm spirit and the importance he placed on connection and togetherness.
Geary was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond "Buddy" Leon Commander and Velma Winnell Williams; his sister, Debra Commander; and his brother, Carl Commander. He is survived by his niece, Kristen "Krissy" Jeter, and her husband Larry; his great nieces and nephews, Austin Reeves, Nicolas Jeter, Harlee Jeter, Madelyn Jeter, and Hayden Jeter; three great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Geary Commander’s legacy is one of quiet devotion, tireless work ethic, and the love he carried for his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know him.
