Gary Allen Barron, 71, of Cleburne, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 in Cleburne. He was born December 31, 1952 in Fort Worth to Jack Ronald and Mary Katherine (Millige) Barron. He married Cynthia Jean Zatyrka in March 17, 2022.
Gary was a SFC (Sergeant 1st Class) for the United States Army. He served our country for 20 years. Where he was awarded the Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Silver Star, Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NCO Academy Ribbon, Expert Infantryman Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Air Assault Badge, US Navy Scuba Badge, US Army Recruiter Identification Badge, Parachute Rigger Badge, Expert Marksmanship Badge, German Senior Parachutist Badge, German Marksmanship Badge, Panama Range Badge, Korea Ranger Badge, English Parachutist Badge, NCO Professional Development Ribbon and Scuba Diver Badge. Gary was a member of the US Parachute Team and holds the World Record for Fastest Freefall in POPS (Parachutists Over Phorty Society) in January 15, 2017.
Gary had a lot of hobbies skydiving, hunting, fishing, and reading. Gary enjoyed watching the military channel, finding treasures (aka junk) and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He also loved his fur babies.
Gary is preceded in death by, first wife Donna Barron in April 25, 2008; parents, Jack and Marlyn Barron; nephews, Brian Barron, Jr. and George Steeton, Jr.
Gary is survived by his wife, Cynthia Barron of Cleburne; sons, Donald Barron and wife, Shannon of Cleburne, Jack Barron and wife, Michelle of Tolar, Anthony Zanetti and wife, Karol of Joshua, Timothy Zanetti and wife Teresa of Worcester, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jack Thomas (JT) Barron, Haleigh Barron, Dexter Barron, Farens Sagastume, Jay Zanetti, Danny Sagastume, Andrea Alejandro, Justin Sagastume, Vairon Sagastume, Sophia Zanetti, Amani Herring, Naeema Zanetti, Samir Zanetti; great-grandchildren, Season and Danny Jr. Sagastume; mother-in-law, Lorraine Zatyrka; siblings, Debbie Ruiz and husband Ronnie of Benbrook, Brian Barron and wife Caryn of Frisco, Sharon Steeton and husband, George of Cummins, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family service will be held April 27, 2024 at Rock Church Cemetery in Tolar. |
