A graveside service for Frances Ellen (Evans) Bursey, 97, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the Caddo Cemetery located at 6700 FM 1902, Joshua, Texas with Pastor Wayne Walters officiating. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM prior to service in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, Texas 76033.
Frances Ellen (Evans) Bursey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Cleburne. She was born on April 21, 1929, in Crowley, Texas.
Throughout her long and meaningful life, Frances was recognized for her steadfast commitment to her values and heritage. A proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), she found great purpose in honoring both her ancestors and the country she loved. Through this esteemed organization, Frances fostered lasting friendships and contributed to preserving history for future generations.
Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Frances will be remembered with great admiration and affection for her role in her community and for the example she set through her dedication and kindness.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Allen; second husband, William Fred Bursey, Sr.; stepson, Fred Bursey, Jr.; partner, Theo Willis; stepson Matthew Willis; parents, Samuel Washington Evans and Evelyn Frances Hunter, and brother, Patrick Evans.
She is survived by her loving sons, James R. Allen (Patti), and Samuel M. Allen (Janice); stepson Greg Bursey (Charletta); grandchildren, Jason R. Allen (Olga), Jillian R. Beglan (Raymond), Andy Allen, Amy Allen, Jacob Allen, Belinda Bursey (Josh), Brian Bursey (Cassandra) and Travis Bursey (Claire); nine great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Hana; step-daughter-in-law, Cindy Bursey, and numerous other family members and close friends.
