A funeral service for Eugenia Soto, 86, of Cleburne will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 807 North Anglin Street, Cleburne, Texas 76031. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM in the Richland Springs Cemetery, 300 Brown Street, Richland Springs, Texas 76871 with Lonnie Bulloch, Sr, Lonnie Bulloch Jr., Christopher Bulloch, Ruben Rubio, John David Smith, Joe Bulloch, and Victor serving as pallbearers. There will be a rosary from 3:00-3:30 PM and a time of visitation from 3:30-5:00 PM for family and friends on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, Texas 76033. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Breast Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, in lieu of floral tributes for the service.
Eugenia Soto, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. She was born on March 12, 1940, in Richland Springs, Texas.
Eugenia was known as a hard worker whose life reflected perseverance, intelligence, and care for others. From working in the cotton fields and picking peaches, pecans, she built a life marked by dedication and resilience. She also worked at Food Center in frozen foods, Brown and Root Nuclear Plant, as a postal worker in Montana, and later in the meat department at David’s Foods, HEB, and Walmart in Cleburne. In every role she held, Eugenia was respected for her strong work ethic and her ability to meet life with determination and purpose.
Beyond her work, Eugenia was a woman of many gifts and interests. She was very smart, a good cook, and someone who believed in planning ahead. She could be stubborn, but that steadfast spirit was part of what made her so memorable and so deeply loved. Eugenia is also a cancer survivor. Her courage carried her through cancer in 2010 and in 2013, making her a powerful testament to strength, hope, and resilience. She had a generous heart and was very giving to those around her. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her, and she delighted in spoiling them. Eugenia also found joy in simple pleasures and creative pursuits. She loved her flowers, butterflies, pets, and the comfort of favorite television shows including Dancing with the Stars, General Hospital, and Gilmore Girls. She enjoyed bowling, embroidery, and quilting, and she brought warmth and care into the lives of those who knew her. Eugenia will be remembered for the love she gave, the example she set through hard work, and the many ways she made others feel cared for. Her life was one of strength, generosity, and enduring devotion to the people and things she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Encardnacion Soto and Beatrice (Cruz) Soto; brothers, Raymond Soto, Ray Soto, Ed Soto, and Joe Walter, and sister, ReFugia Soto.
Eugenia is survived by her children, Joe Bulloch & his wife, Kathy, Lonnie Bulloch & his wife, Cecilia, and Susie Smith & her husband, John David; grandchildren, Lonnie Bullloch, Jr., Betsy Bulloch, and Maggie Bulloch; great-grandchild, Christopher Bulloch, and niece, Mary Ann Soto-Reyes and family.
