Private services for E.G. Steve Stephens, 86, of Keene, will be held at a later date in the Keene Cemetery.
Mr. Stephens passed away in Alvarado on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was born to Levi Garrett and Johnnie Mae Stephens on November 17, 1926 in Brownwood, Texas. He married Margaret Zella Smith and had her at his side for over 50 years until her passing in March of 2000. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Grandview. Steve was a hardworking man, who was driven and strong willed. He was the longtime business owner and operator of Keene Advertising. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, swimming and camping when he was able to. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Survivors include his children, Garry Don Stephens, Linda Kay Stephens Brady, Kenneth Dale Stephens, Jon Keith Stephens, and Brian Allen Stephens; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Velma Pauline Kinsey, John Earl Stephens, and Russell Ray Stephens; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
