A graveside service for Edward Monroe "Hoss" Hutchison, 79, of Rio Vista, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025, in Rio Vista Cemetery, Rio Vista, Texas with Pastor John Paul officiating. Keith Hutchison, Jason Hutchison, Jeffrey Harwell, Andy Gill, Randy Moore, and Garrett Barnes will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jody Moore and Spencer Hutchison. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Edward "Hoss" Hutchison, a beloved patriarch and cherished member of the Rio Vista community, passed away on July 7, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on September 25, 1945, in Cleburne, he spent his life dedicated to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

Hoss served with distinction as a firefighter in Rio Vista for over 18 years, culminating in a year as chief, where he made a lasting impact on both the department and the townspeople. His commitment to serving others reflected his deep sense of duty and compassion. In addition to his firefighting career, Hoss retired from the railroad after 38 years of dedicated work, demonstrating his unwavering work ethic and loyalty.

A proud veteran, he served in both the National Guard and the Army, embodying the spirit of service that defined much of his life. Hoss was also known for his passion for John Deere tractors, which symbolized not just a hobby but a connection to the land and the values of hard work. Hoss was a devoted father and grandfather, known affectionately as "PaPa."

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hutchison; son, JJ Hutchison; parents, William and Geneva Hutchison; granddaughters Braylea Hutchison and Kandie Hutchison; brothers Bob Hutchison and Dale Hutchison, and sister, Willie Mae Junge.

Hoss is survived by daughter, Kim Moore and husband Dickie Joe; son, Tim Hutchison, and wife Misty; grandchildren: Journi Cordova and husband Jonathan, Lacey Jackson and husband Keon, Spencer Hutchison, Taylor Hutchison, Trinity Hutchison, Jody Moore and wife Ashley, Brean Harper and husband AJ, and Katherine Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Keely Ross, Braylea Moreno, Hadlee Moreno, Kenzie Cordova, Kaiden Cordova, Nevaeh Moore, Kanyon Moore, Traezon Phillips, KJ Jackson, Dre Jackson, Dani Moore and Carter Crownover; brother, Gail Hutchison and wife Cathy; sister, Betty Sue Sparks and husband Jim.

His impact on those around him was immeasurable, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit and dedication to family, service, and community will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
