A memorial service for Dr. William Charles Bosworth will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 15, 2025 at Church of the Holy Comforter, 209 E Wardville St, Cleburne, TX 76031. A visitation will be held 5-7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. 512 North Ridgeway, Cleburne, Texas 76033. In lieu of Flowers, the family asks that friends and loved ones consider donating to their favorite charity, The Hope Clinic https://www.hopecliniccleburne.com/ or the music fund at the Church of the Holy Comforter.
Dr. William Charles Bosworth, 90, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away in his sleep on July 27, 2025 at home. He was born on March 31, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Caroline Mason Bosworth and Harold Bosworth.
Charles graduated from The University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1960. After completing his residency and internship in Galveston, Texas, Dr. Bosworth served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. After his time in the Navy, Dr. Bosworth practiced Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Wisconsin for a few years before establishing his practice in Cleburne, Texas in 1977. After retiring in 2003, Dr. Bosworth volunteered as a physician with the Hope Medical Clinic for an additional eleven years. While at the Hope Clinic, he was instrumental in convincing drug companies to donate basic prescription medicines for distribution to those who could not afford them otherwise.
Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Diana Bosworth; his four sons, Bill Bosworth, a Texas District Judge and wife Stephanie, Brian Bosworth, an accomplished artist and wife Buck, Robert Bosworth, a Dentist in San Diego and wife Emily, and Bruce Bosworth, a retired Navy Commander and business owner and wife Amy. In addition, Charles, affectionately known as “Doc” to his grandkids, was proud to be Grandfather to Jack and wife Haley, Charlie and wife Lauren, Mason, Hannah, Tom, Madeline and husband Neil, Hill, Cody, and Hunter. He was thrilled to be a Great Grandfather to Madeline and Neil’s son Theo.
He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and concern for others. Charles was an avid fan of classical music and was particularly fond of Organ Music.
