Donald "Donny" Jay Steele

Donald "Donny" Jay Steele, 70, of Arlington, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas. He was born on October 30, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Robert Gene and Lillian Rebecca Rowe Steele.

Donny was known for his stubborn yet endearing spirit. His wit, intelligence, and artistic nature shone through in everything he did. A talented craftsman, he had a remarkable ability to fix and build anything, showcasing his dedication as a hard worker. Donny loved softball and played avidly throughout his life. He found peace and happiness out on the lake fishing, and he enjoyed working on cars and projects around the house. His great sense of humor, dedication, and warmth endeared him to everyone who knew him.

Donny is survived by his children, Stephanie Guajardo, Robert Wayne Steele, and Bree Steele; his grandchildren, Samantha Bricknell, Sabrina Cornell, Stormie Rodriguez, Chelsea Steele, Camila Steele, Natalie Steele, Iianna Steele, and Mason Steele; and his great-grandchildren, Aria Joyce Ruda, Cora Ashley Brown, Ashton Cordova, and Stanley Austin Bricknell. He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry Steele and his wife Marsha, David Steele, and Tommy Steele and his wife Susan, brother-in-law Jim Cunningham as well as several nieces, nephews, as well as his ex-wives, Vera Lairson, Tina Cantrell, and Ann Nichols extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Shelby Jae Steele; his sister, Vickie Cunningham; and his parents, Robert Gene and Lillian Rebecca Rowe Steele.

A man of considerable talents and a vibrant, unrivaled spirit, Donny leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
