David "Frog" Trammell, a cherished pillar of the Godley community, passed away on July 14, 2026, in Godley, Texas. He was born on April 13, 1954, in Fort Worth.

David's life was one marked by unwavering generosity, dedication, and a passion for uplifting those around him. From his earliest days, David was known for his athletic prowess, rising to distinction as a star athlete and later taking on the thrilling challenge of professional rodeo, competing in team roping and steer wrestling. Whether it was on the field, in the arena, or in a boat on the lake fishing for bass, David pursued all his passions with characteristic vigor and joy.

David's commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather who tirelessly encouraged and supported his children. His enthusiasm for athletics never waned; he coached every sports team his children joined, as well as teams for countless other young athletes. As his kids pursued college athletics, he often drove hours on end across multiple state lines to support them. From little league through college, he never missed a game. He was always there, being their #1 fan. David's influence extended well beyond the bounds of his own family, as he poured his heart into nurturing and building young people's athletic careers throughout the community. His presence on the sidelines and in the stands was a constant, a testament to his steadfast support and ardent pride.

A loyal friend and a man who truly never met a stranger, David embodied the spirit of giving. He was known for his selflessness and consistent participation in community causes-never missing a fundraiser and always ready to lend a helping hand. For 17 years, David "Frog" Trammell served Godley ISD, including several years as president of the school board, driven by his belief in investing in local youth and education.

Throughout his life, David exemplified hard work, humility, and an extraordinary willingness to serve others. To many in Godley, he was more than just a beloved friend and trusted neighbor-he was a source of encouragement, a coach, a confidant, and one of the town's most giving souls. His dedication created a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. David's life was defined by his kindness, perseverance, and deep-rooted sense of family and community. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege to know him.
