A funeral service for Danny W. Syrus, 71, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033 with Pastor Mike Acker officiating. Interment will follow in the Baker Lain Cemetery with Greyson Anchondo, Tryston Anchondo, Connor Syrus, Carsyn Syrus, Joey Syrus, Jeremy Syrus, Victor Anchondo, and Jarred Clements serving as pallbearers. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Danny W. Syrus, a beloved figure known for his warmth and simplicity, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Cleburne, Texas. He was born on March 15, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas, and grew to become a man of strong character and enduring faith.
Danny lived a life filled with passion for the outdoors; he cherished hunting and fishing, activities that brought him joy and a profound connection to nature. His love for these pursuits reflected his simple, country way of life, a testament to the values he held dear. As a father and grandfather, he dedicated himself to nurturing and loving his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories and bonds that will forever be treasured.
Throughout his life, Danny demonstrated a remarkable sensibility when it came to finances, embodying a wisdom that served him well. His journey led him to drive a freightliner truck for a notable decade, a role that kept him connected to the roads and landscapes he loved.
He was a godly man, devout in his beliefs and steadfast in his faith. This foundation guided him in all aspects of his life, influencing those around him and leaving a legacy of integrity and devotion.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Roy Syrus, and nephew Danny Clements.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Syrus; son Jackie Syrus and his wife Bridget; his daughter Jillian Anchondo and her husband Victor; his grandchildren, Connor Syrus, Carsyn Syrus, Tryston Anchondo, Haleigh Syrus, and Greyson Anchondo; his great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Natalie; his brother, Jimmy Syrus and his wife Teresa; sister Charlotte Clements; nephews, Jeremy Syrus, Joey Syrus, and Jarred Clements; niece Tina Flavin and a host of other friends and relatives.
He will be dearly missed, but his legacy as a loving father, devoted friend, and faithful believer will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
