A celebration of life for Clarene Lightfoot Overall, 80, of Covington, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Covington Church of Christ located at 116 N Barron St, Covington, TX 76636.
Clarene Lightfoot Overall, born on January 17, 1945, in Hunt County, Texas, peacefully passed away on October 10, 2025, in Grandview, Texas. She was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her loving spirit and vibrant personality.
Known affectionately as "Mother to all of her grandkids," Clarene was a feisty fighter, fearless in her pursuits, and possessed a bubbly nature that drew people to her. Her love for her family was evident in all she did. Clarene cherished her grandchildren, supporting and nurturing them in every endeavor. She was not only a loving mother to her daughter Jo Hicks and son Rusty Carlisle, but also a proud grandmother to Kelly Smith and her husband Derek, Robyn Hicks, Krystal McQueen and her husband Mike, Tiffany LaFoe and her husband Chad, Bryce LaFoe, Jaycee Carlisle, Matt Carlisle, and Jake Carlisle. The legacy of love she cultivated extended to her great-grandchildren: Kaitlynd McQueen and her husband Chance Burtchell, Elizabeth Smith, Benjamin Smith, Aria Blocker, Madison Carlisle, and Matthew Christopher-Lightfoot Carlisle. Additionally, she celebrated the arrival of her great-great-grandchild, August Burtchell. Clarene is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Carlisle.
Clarene was supported by her sister Tommie Cannon and a host of other relatives and friends who held her dear. She faced the challenges of life with grace and determination, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Overall, her parents, Thomas and Clara Lightfoot, son, Christopher Carlisle and granddaughter, Jackie Jo Hicks. Clarene also mourned the loss of her brothers, Junior Lightfoot, Glenn Lightfoot, Henry Lightfoot, Loyd Lightfoot, and her sister Delma Krause; brothers, Thomas Lightfoot, and Curtis (Lavon) Lightfoot. While she may have faced the sorrow of losing loved ones, her spirit remained a beacon of light for her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Clarene Lightfoot Overall leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and familial bonds that will forever shape the lives she touched. Her vibrant spirit will be missed deeply, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
