Christopher “Scotty” Knox, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026 in Cleburne. He was born on February 5, 1981 in Amarillo, Texas.

Scotty will be remembered as an artist whose creativity was central to who he was. He brought imagination and individuality to his work and to the way he moved through life. Those who knew him also knew a man with a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor, a quality that gave color and character to his presence and brought laughter to the people around him.

He was also known as someone protective of women, a reflection of the care and conviction he carried in his relationships with others. Above all, Scotty was a wonderful father, a role that spoke to his heart and to the love he gave so fully.

He was sometimes referred to as a curmudgeon, a nickname given to him by those closest to him, that captured part of his personality while never overshadowing the warmth, wit, and loyalty that defined him. Scotty will be remembered for his creativity, his humor, his strength of character, and the lasting impression he made on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Scotty was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Mary; paternal grandmother, Dovie; Poppa Alton Knox, and stepfather, Brent Shields.

He is survived by his wife, Stacy Knox; son, Nicholas Knox; daughter, Libby Knox; father, Ricky Knox; mother, Kathy Shields; younger brother, Spencer Shields, and brother-in-law, Taylor Lane.
