Chester "Trey" Caldwell, III, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on September 22, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas, Trey lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Trey was known to many as the dependable "go to guy," someone always willing to lend a hand or offer support. His industrious spirit was evident through his seven-plus years of work in the oil fields, where his strong work ethic and willingness to labor tirelessly earned him the respect of his peers. Beyond his professional life, Trey had a passion for many things that brought joy both to himself and to those around him. He was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a devotion that brought lively enthusiasm and heartfelt camaraderie to many gatherings. His culinary skills, particularly his love of cooking barbecue, delighted family and friends, while his enjoyment of cleaning and washing cars reflected his attention to detail and pride in his surroundings. Music of all kinds filled his life, providing a soundtrack to the moments he shared with loved ones. Above all, Trey's heart belonged to his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Caldwell, Jr., and Geneva Louise (Tiller) Caldwell; his sister Lynda Caldwell; and his brothers Richard Caldwell and Terry Caldwell. Survivors include his wife, Shawnda Caldwell; his daughters LaQawanda Caldwell, Destoney Caldwell, and A'leah Caldwell; his son Antonio Caldwell and wife, Tristal; his grandchildren, Elisia Caldwell, Kimora Caldwell, Harmonie Webb, Sariah Johnson, Derrick Chargois, Jr., Theseus Bowser, Dru Chargois, and Dalis Chargois; his brother Bruce Caldwell and his wife Felicia; his sisters-in-law, April Caldwell and Evelyn Caldwell, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

As we remember Trey, we celebrate a life well-lived—a man whose kindness, hard work, and love will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit remains forever imprinted on the hearts of his family and friends.
