A graveside service for Charlotte Lou (Meals), 82, of Stephenville, will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the Rosehill Cemetery located at 960 E. Second St., Cleburne, TX 76031 with Pastor Payton Carter officiating.

Charlotte Lou (Meals) Smith, a beloved matriarch, passed away on December 23, 2025, in Stephenville, Texas. Born on July 3, 1943, Charlotte lived a life full of love, dedication, and strength.

A remarkable woman, Charlotte demonstrated immense fortitude throughout her life, balancing the responsibilities of raising her children while furthering her education. She persevered through challenges, putting herself through college while working full-time, cultivating a legacy of hard work and commitment that her descendants will continue to aspire to. Charlotte known for her unwavering support and encouragement, especially in helping her granddaughter, Summer Smith, achieve her dreams.

Charlotte is preceded in death by husband, Martin Kingsley Smith, Sr. and her parents, Oscar Dennis Meals and Johnnie Faye Cameron.

She is survived by her two children, Cynthia Lynn Smith Marquez and Martin Smith, Jr.; granddaughter Summer Smith and her husband Travis Cowart; great-grandson, Henry Smith Cowart; and her siblings, Dennis Ray Meals and Cecilia Ginn.
