Charles Waddle

Graveside service for Charles Waddle, 83, of Grandview, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 12, 2024 in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the funeral home.

Charles passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 in Grandview. He was born November 5, 1940 in Cleburne to Frank and Dora (Hallmark) Waddle. Charles married Bobbie Van Zandt on March 5, 1971 in Grandview. He attended First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. Charles worked as a Railroad Carman for Santa Fe and retired from Union Pacific. He owned Charlie’s Sporting Goods in Cleburne in the 1970’s between both railroad jobs. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing and hunting. Charles had many stories to tell. He truly enjoyed his children, grandchildren and his retirement. Charles will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Waddle; sons, Chuck Davis and wife, Petti, and Tim Davis; grandchildren, Lara Hall and husband, Clif, Katie Looper and husband, Roddy, and T.J. Davis and wife, Lindsey; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Katherine Wade, and Betty Sexton.
