Charles William McCoy, Jr.

A memorial service for Charles William McCoy, Jr. 80, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Reverend John Glover offciating.

 

Charles passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Cleburne. He was born August 6, 1943 in Cleburne to Charles William McCoy, Sr., and Lois Katherine Summerhill McCoy. Charles married Dora Lee Henderson on September 19, 1970 in Cleburne. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church for almost 60 years. Charles served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Charles grew up helping his father on the Dairy before taking over the operation, running it for 20 years. He also worked for Santa Fe Railroad in Cleburne. Charles will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dora Lee McCoy; daughter, Michele Jenkins and James; grandchildren, Whitney Fry and Robert, Ashleigh Arellano and Beto, Riley Jenkins and Celeste, Lenzee Shelton and Bobby, Tatum Shelton, Kenadee Shelton, Brystal Shelton, Whitnee Jenkins, and Raelyn Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Abigail Fry, Theodore Fry, Everleigh Arellano, and Miles Arellano; sisters-in-law, Ann McCoy, and Nancy Anderson; fur baby, Roxie; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Rhea McCoy, and Ronald Gary Anderson.

 

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of his caregivers.
