Chance William Godfrey

A memorial service for Chance William Godfrey, 36, of Blum will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Blum Community Center located at 105 Avenue C in Blum, Texas.

Chance William Godfrey, born on July 14, 1989, in Cleburne, Texas was a vibrant soul whose presence brought joy and laughter to all fortunate enough to know him.

His love for animals was profound, including the companionship he enjoyed with his own personal "Man's Best Friend," Syrus, who sadly preceded him in death. His extraordinary cooking skills made family gatherings all the more delightful, as he frequently whipped up delicious meals that brought everyone together. Fondly described as "Tiny but Mighty," Chance had a feisty personality that matched his passion for adventure. He was a great listener who appreciated the beauty of the outdoors, often finding solace and happiness around a good bonfire.

Chance is preceded in death by his father, Larry Godfrey, his paternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Godfrey, and his niece Eleanor Godfrey.

He is survived by his mother Laurie Godfrey; sister, Christie Williams and her husband Lonzo; brother, Colt Godfrey and his wife Sylvia; his nephews, Christian and Jackson Williams, and his nieces, Jurnee Williams and Letty Godfrey; maternal grandparents, Louise Bushong, James Bushong, Lynda Bushong, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He shared an unbreakable bond with his family, bringing immense joy to their lives. He held a special place in the hearts of his nephews and nieces for often taking the role of "favorite babysitter".

Chance will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
