A graveside service for Carla Jean Crawford, 69 of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in the Rosehill Cemetery located at 960 E. Second St., Cleburne, Texas 76031 with Pastor Eddy Scheler officiating.
Carla Jean Crawford, a devoted educator and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Fort Worth. Born on September 8, 1956, in Borger, Texas, Carla’s life was marked by a passion for learning, athletics, and service that touched many lives throughout her 69 years.
Carla grew up in a nurturing family environment and was known for her spirited involvement in sports, particularly softball and track, during both high school and college. Her dedication on the field reflected the same energy she brought to her professional and personal endeavors. She pursued higher education at Tarleton State University, where she earned her master’s degree in education. This achievement was a testament to her lifelong commitment to teaching, a vocation she loved deeply.
Her career spanned more than two decades at Walmart, where she was respected and appreciated for her tireless work ethic and kindness. Yet, it was her role as an educator that truly defined Carla. She was passionate about inspiring young minds and fostering a love of learning in her students, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents, James William Crawford and Lois Elizabeth Wendtland, and sister, Cathy Crawford.
She is survived by her brothers, Jimmy Don Crawford and Jeff Crawford & his wife, Kim; nephews, Nicholas James Crawford and Nolan Jacob Crawford, and aunts Mona Spannem and Ellen Baylon.
Carla Jean Crawford’s legacy is one of resilience, love, and devotion. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her.
