Billy Gene "Papa" Redford passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in Cleburne. He was born on November 28, 1934, in Fort Worth.

He leaves a legacy built on strength, compassion, hard work, and unwavering dedication to family. “There is so much to say about daddy,” as the patriarch of his family, Billy was known for his resolute work ethic and a spirit that was both tough as nails and deeply loving. Though soft-spoken, his actions spoke volumes, he was always attentive to the needs and wishes of those around him, putting others before himself. His generosity and giving nature were over the top, forever making sure that his care and kindness reached everyone in his circle.

Billy Gene “Papa” Redford’s example was one of perseverance and gentle leadership. He shaped the lives of his loved ones with patience, devotion, and a selfless love that will be remembered for generations. His enduring influence is evident in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Louise (Shultz) Redford and parents, T. W. Redford and Eunice Adell Richardson. 

Billy is survived by his daughter, Tami Midfeldt; grandchildren, Ashley Rossow and Ryan Midfeldt; great-grandchildren, Hayden Redford, Hunter Rossow and Hailee Rossow; nephew, Randy Gross, and in-laws, Judy Gross and Dean Gross.
