A Celebration of Life for Billy Nolan Mackey, 80, of Cleburne, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Henderson Street Baptist Church located at 919 East Henderson Street, Cleburne, TX 76031 with Pastor Neale Oliver and Pastor David Shiflet officiating. 

Nolan Mackey, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026. Born on October 8, 1945, in his cherished hometown, Nolan lived a full and enriching life marked by warmth, dedication, and a profound passion for the world around him.

Nolan was a true conversationalist, a man who could talk to anyone about anything, captivating those who listened with his easy-going charm and thoughtful insights. Yet, if the subject of helicopters came up, his enthusiasm knew no bounds. He could talk endlessly about them, sharing stories and knowledge that reflected not only an interest but a deep-seated passion. Alongside his fascination with helicopters, Nolan had a love for tractors and often found joy attending tractor shows.

His professional life was distinguished by a noteworthy 43-year tenure at Bell Helicopter. During this time, Nolan’s work took him to various corners of the globe, including Indonesia, Japan, and Canada, where he contributed his skills and dedication to an industry he clearly loved. His legacy at Bell Helicopter stands as a testament to his commitment and expertise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Mackey and Mozelle (Henson) Mackey; his brothers, Charles Mackey and John Mackey; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Mackey. Billy is survived by his wife, Susie Mackey; his son, Lucas Mackey; his brother-in-law, J. Lynn Davis, and wife Lena; his sister-in-law, Sherri Appleton and her husband Richard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy Nolan Mackey’s life was one of heartfelt connection, to family, friends, and the passions that made his spirit shine. His gentle nature, vibrant stories, and unwavering love for those close to him will be missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
