Beverly V. Haynes passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. She was born on May 24, 1935, in Temple, Texas.
Beverly will be remembered as a loving, genuine, and caring woman whose kindness left a lasting impression on those around her. When news of her passing was shared, one of the first things people said was how friendly she was to everyone. Her warm spirit, gracious heart, and gift for making others feel welcome shaped the way she moved through the world and the way she will be remembered.
Education, music, and faith were central throughout her life. Beverly taught second grade for most of her career, and her students loved her. She also taught elementary music and devoted 37 years to Denver City ISD, where she made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless children and families. Her commitment to learning was reflected in her earning a master’s degree, and her years in the classroom stand as a testament to her dedication, patience, and love for young people.
Beverly was also a deeply gifted musician. A talented pianist, she sang publicly and volunteered in her church’s music department. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, where her faith and musical gifts found joyful expression. She sang with the Jubilee Choir of Hobbs and also sang with a group in England at the Cathedral. At 80 years old, she traveled to Israel to sing, continuing to share her voice and her love of music in remarkable ways. Even at 90, she was still embracing life with enthusiasm, winning a singing competition and inspiring those around her with her energy and spirit. Her support of the arts was another meaningful part of her life, and she encouraged beauty, creativity, and expression wherever she could.
Among her many honors, Beverly was recognized as Senior of the Month in Hobbs, New Mexico, a reflection of the esteem in which she was held by her community. Whether in the classroom, at the piano, in the choir, or in everyday conversation, she gave generously of herself and enriched the lives of many. Beverly leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, music, education, and faith. She will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
