Betty Hall

Betty passed away in Keene on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She was born to James Wesley and Stella Nancy Ann Wylie Harwell on November 28, 1939 in Rio Vista, Texas. She was a member of Gateway Community Church, Granbury and of the Thousand Trails Club. She married Waymon Hall on March 21, 1957 in Cleburne. She has been described as being “super mom”, always there for her family; baking, cooking, or sewing all the while singing. She was fun loving and never met a stranger, literally. “Granny” as her grandchildren lovingly called her loved to visit and socialize as well as play games, especially card games. She was not only talented in the kitchen but also in writing. Her poems will be a treasure to her family for generations to come. Betty’s love for life and giving nature will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Kevin Wayne Hall; an infant sister; and brothers, J.W. Harwell, Stanley Harwell, and Billy Harwell.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Waymon Hall; children and their spouses, Vickie and Tim McQueary, Michael Hall and Ginia Long, Gary Hall and Ryan Yocom, Robert and Erin Hall, and Todd and DeAnn Hall; grandchildren, Kent, Kallie, Conner, Montana, Reagan, Ryleigh, Joey, and Melanie; great grandchildren, Kaden, Kami, and one more on the way; siblings, Nancy Hutchison, Edna Hackler, Kenneth Harwell, and Alfred Harwell; and a host of other relatives and friends, including numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
