Bennie Bridge

Bennie Joe Bridge of Grandview, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, with his family by his side. Bennie was born on April 14, 1929, in Wellington, Texas to Marland Bennie and Etta Mae (Robinson) Bridge. He grew up in Weatherford, Texas, where he graduated from Weatherford High School. He attended and graduated from Sul Ross University, where he met his beloved Nancy Lee Phillips. The two were married on December 22, 1956, in Fort Worth where they lived for several years before moving to Grandview. There, Bennie and Nancy made their home and raised their two children, Becky and David.

Bennie lived his life for the Lord and his family. He always wore a broad and welcoming smile, which fit well with his friendly and outgoing manner. He was a loving man that always put others before himself. Over his career, Bennie was President of several grain elevator companies active in the North Texas area. Bennie was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Grandview, a member of the Masons, and, together with Nancy and his children, an active part of the Grandview community.

Services for Bennie will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Grandview, 401 East Criner Street, Grandview, Texas 76050. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of the Church starting at 10:00 A.M.

Bennie is survived by his daughter, Becky Ferrell, and husband Michael Humphrey of Dallas, son David Joe Bridge of Grandview, sister Norma Jean Fulton of League City, Texas, grandchildren Chandler Tibbetts and husband Ryan, of Phoenix, Arizona, Hutton Ferrell and wife Shelby of Dallas, Stephen Bridge of San Antonio, great-grandson and namesake Bridger Tibbetts, and niece Jeanie Fulton Kolb and husband Jay of Houston. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and colleagues who will miss him deeply. Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, and brother-in-law, Quince Fulton.
