Aretes Salmans

Services for Aretes Marie Salmans, 82, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 9, 2021 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ryan Lyles, Todd Richardson, John Salmans, Allen Salmans, James Gatlin, Michael Rurak, Lane Salmans, James Salmans and Dylan Adams.

Aretes Salmans passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Cleburne. She was born June 2, 1939 in Cleburne to John Vinson and Morris Marie (Lindsey) Goebel. Aretes married John Aubrey Salmans on May 3, 1960 in Kamay, Texas. She was of the Baptist faith. Aretes was a Special Education teacher for Cleburne ISD with several years of service.

Aretes is survived by her husband John Salmans of Cleburne; daughters, Teresa Bednar and husband, Mark of Cleburne, Lori Chalmers of Glen Rose; son, John A. “Butch” Salmans, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Emory, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Dustin, Amanda, Todd, John, Lindsey, Tiffany, Allen, Kali, and Michael ; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Sam O. Glover, Jr., and wife Charlinda, Wesley A Salmans, Jr., and wife Barbie; sister-in-law, Teena Smith and husband, Jim; along with numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Goebel; and step-father, Azell Cox.
