A Celebration of Life and Gathering for Amy D. Dickhaut, 52, of Keene, will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. Guests are encouraged to attend the gathering and celebrate Amy through shared stories and fellowship with her family and friends.

Amy D. Dickhaut passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Mansfield, Texas. She was born on November 21, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Amy was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Cleburne. She worked as a cook and baker with Ell’s Diner in Sand Flat for over seven years most recently, where the staff and customers became more like a second family to her. Amy was a lady that you remembered and often admired. She was one that never just “survived” any obstacle she was faced with. Amy fiercely fought her battles and rose above circumstance, always with an optimistic outlook. She has been described as a strong and honest lady who had a protective nature, all the while being selfless as well as being fun-loving and personable. Amy’s laughter was contagious and she lit up every room she entered. She had the gift of being able to bring others through anything through her “laughter in the tears” mentality, which always brought you full circle. Amy believed in working hard and being a good person. She was both, almost to a fault even. Amy was known for her hugs, kind words and being supportive to her friends and family. She made those around her stronger just for knowing her. She never met a stranger, and countless people she met ended up being more like family shortly thereafter. Amy was competitive! You played board games or card games with her at your own risk. The next time you drink a Dr. Pepper, smile and think of Amy. Her love of life and giving nature will be missed greatly. Amy is preceded in death by her father, Dennis Nathan Dickhaut; and her mother, Sharon Ann Turner Dickhaut.

Survivors include her children, Justin Light, Colton Dickhaut, and Abby Dickhaut; brother, Jason Dickhaut and his wife, Angie; bonus brother, Daniel Murauskas; bonus sister, Marcy Woodruff; bonus mother, Janice Dickhaut; nieces, Taylor Dickhaut and Stephanie Dickhaut; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
