Alan Ray Skiles passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer on December 19, 2025. He was born on November 8, 1966.

Alan lived his life quietly but fully. He didn’t need to be the loudest person in the room to be noticed; his presence was steady, dependable, and sincere. He valued loyalty, authenticity, and showing up for the people he loved—no speeches required.

Most knew him for his love of Fords, most notably his 1965 Falcon straight axle with the motor roaring through the hood.

Close family and friends mattered deeply to Alan. He was devoted to his wife, Tricia, with whom he shared almost 16 years of marriage, and he believed in being there and staying consistent, even when life was hard.

Alan had a lifelong love of the Peanuts comics, especially Snoopy as the Flying Ace, and kept a large box of newspaper strips he collected over the years. He also collected a wide variety of Snoopy Memorabilia, as well as basically anything antique, old, or rusty that caught his eye.

He enjoyed good cars and good drives, often preferring the long way home. For Alan, driving wasn’t about the destination; it was about the ride, the music playing, and the person beside him. Life, in his view, wasn’t meant to be rushed.

Alan is survived by his wife Tricia Skiles; his father Johnny Ray Skiles and stepmother Dana; his sons William Austin Skiles and Aaron Ray Skiles; John Dillon Green and his grandchildren Jason Allen Green and Jade Olivia Green; his stepdaughter Emily Tarver and her husband Nick; his stepson Dylan Bly and his wife Bailey, and their son Nate; his brother Stephen Skiles; step sister Ashley Mobley; and his best friend of 30+ years Robert Curlee.

Alan will be remembered for his quiet strength, sharp wit, and the way he could say exactly what he meant—often with just a look or a perfectly timed remark.
