A funeral service for A.E. Carr, 91, of Cleburne will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in the Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church, located at 600 S Colonial Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033 with Pastor Warren Burns officiating. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, located at 512 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX 76033 on Monday, August 24, 2026.
A.E. Carr, a devoted husband, father and man of unwavering faith, passed away leaving behind a legacy built on service, hard work, and deep love for his family.
He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after many years of dedicated service, where his work ethic and reliability earned the respect of all who worked alongside him. Never one to slow down, he continued his commitment to public service by joining the Texas Department of Public Safety, retiring at age 71.
A.E. was a family man in every sense, a wonderful provider who often held two or more jobs at a time to ensure his loved ones had everything they needed. His life was a testament to perseverance, responsibility, and the belief that caring for one's family is one of the greatest callings a person can fulfill.
Guided by strong faith, A.E. lived with integrity, offering support and a steady presence to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave, and the countless lives he touched.
He will deeply be missed and forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.E. "Pete" Carr and Leva Pearl Carr; brother, Roy Lee Carr, and sisters, Estelline Blackwell and Zelma Lackey.
A.E. Dewitt Carr is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Carr of Cleburne; daughters, Deborah Reno & her husband, Phillip, Kimberly Carr, Monica Roark, and Jessica Scarber & her husband, Greg; son, Brian Keith Saunders & his wife, Kara; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
