Obituary

Graveside service for Lincoln Woodrow Wakeland, 97, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, August 7, 2020 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Gilliam, Johnny Rogers, Jason Weigler, Danny Howe, Kurt Logan and Forrest Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Gilliam, Charles Cannon, Ed Cannon, Jerry Wakeland, Jay Wakeland, Danny Wakeland, Johnny Wakeland, Richard Wakeland, Gary Hampton, Phil Hampton, Gerald Hampton and Jeff Sanderson.



Lincoln Woodrow Wakeland passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in Cleburne. He was born February 15, 1923 in Cleburne to Wallace Marshall and Bonnie Ada (Shelton) Wakeland. He married Nelda Adelle Sanderson on May 11, 1951 in Cleburne. Lincoln was a truck driver for a propane company with 33 years of service. Lincoln was a World War II veteran of the US Navy and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

Lincoln is survived by his son, Vance Wakeland and wife Paula of Cleburne; daughter, Vickie Wakeland of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Marlene Sanderson of Joshua and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lincoln is preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Adelle Wakeland on August 17, 2013; sisters, Ann Gilliam, Gracie Cannon, Bonnie Ann Wakeland; brothers J.C. Wakeland, Joe Wakeland and Wally Wakeland.
